In the middle of Sylt's loveliest village stands a house that does not want to impress. It simply lets you arrive.
A place for long breakfasts. Walks across the mudflats. And evenings on the terrace, when the light slowly moves over the roofs of Keitum.

Maison Lütt is being renovated – bookable from 1 December
In October and November 2026 we are completely renovating and refurnishing Maison Lütt. From 1 December 2026 the house will welcome its first guests in its new look. The interior images on this site are design renderings (AI visualisations). The finished result may differ slightly in detail – but the style and room layout will be exactly as shown.
Why small is sometimes bigger
Maison Lütt was not made to sleep as many people as possible. It was made for two. Or a small family. Or for someone who simply wants to get away on their own.
For people who would rather have one special place than many square metres. For everyone who loves Sylt and still likes it quiet. Between old captains' houses, cobblestones and rose hedges, a retreat came about that was deliberately pared back.
To what matters.
The house
In the morning the light falls through the windows onto the floor.
The first coffee is taken on the terrace. Barefoot, mostly. Outside it is still, only someone on a bicycle somewhere behind the hedge.
Upstairs under the roof waits the open gallery with its lounge and relaxation area. Not big. But exactly right. You lie there and hear the wind travel across the roof.
In the evening you cook, read, or simply do nothing at all. Maison Lütt was made for that too.

A day at Maison Lütt
Morning
Coffee on the terrace. The newspaper stays unread.
Daytime
A walk across the mudflats until your shoes no longer matter. Later a stroll through Keitum and lunch in one of the small restaurants.
Afternoon
Back to the house. Windows open. Wind in the curtains.
Evening
A glass of wine. Candlelight. Quiet.
Workation
Sometimes a different window is enough to move forward.
A workation is especially lovely when the lanes belong to the locals again – Wi-Fi, a table by the window, coffee within reach, and the Wadden Sea between the emails.
One week working, one week breathing. Longer works too.

Keitum
Anyone who knows Sylt only from Westerland or Kampen often understands Keitum on the second visit.
Keitum is quieter. More relaxed. Narrow lanes lead between Frisian houses, hydrangeas grow over the fences, and the mudflats begin only a few steps away.
You do not come to Keitum to do something. You come here to have to do less.
And if you feel like it: Keitum is the best place on Sylt for unhurried shopping – small boutiques, local workshops and good restaurants are just a few steps from the house.

Arrival
By car train
From Niebüll across the Hindenburg Dam to Westerland. The journey takes about 35 minutes. From Westerland it's another 7 km to Keitum (10 min).
By ferry
From Rømø in Denmark to List on Sylt. Year-round ferry service, crossing approx. 40 minutes. From List to Keitum about 25 km (25 min) across the island.
Perhaps exactly the right place for your next time out.
